As we approach another new year, most people set goals or New Year’s resolutions relating to something they want to change or accomplish. Unfortunately, for many, the change is short-lived. However, your health is a great motivator. So, please ask yourself right now, “If I could change one thing related to my health next year, what would it be?”
Lose weight, eat better, and exercise more are some of the most common. These are all great goals, and easy to accomplish with the right approach. The reason many people fail is because they lack knowledge and take the wrong approach, or they lack a support structure for their goal. I want to help you with both.
Next year I am going to focus on sharing, and living, healthy lifestyle principles like never before. I encourage you to join me. Join me by learning as much as you can and sharing with others. Invite someone else who could benefit to join you on your journey. Friend-power is stronger than willpower.
If you are ready for a small change, here are some suggestions:
- Eliminate eating anything with added sugar and eliminate, or greatly reduce refined carbohydrates.
- Eat real food, that is natural food with one ingredient.
- Walk or bicycle 30 minutes three days a week.
- Log your food intake and activity in a tracking app.
- Focus on a healthy macronutrient ratio.
- Eat three large servings of vegetables daily.
Pick one of the above or do them all. Browse the Live Healthy Learning Center to gain the knowledge you need.
Most people are more successful if they “shrink the change” and start small. After developing a new habit by starting small, build on it. Add one new goal each week, or each month, until you are where you want to be. Shrink the change.
You can also improve your level of success if you have an accountability partner. Success breeds success, so you need small wins in the beginning.
